Just called. South/Central Mesa has moved to June 2003 applications. North Mesa is reported at February 2004.

Just called yet again. Same story, though this time they did not mention that they have to work on new admits. They are at April 2003 for South/Central Mesa, and February 2004 for North Mesa.

I was also told the wait is similar for Coast. Applicants typically will have to wait three years to get housing.

Just called the housing office again. They said that they are now dealing with the priority students, which are usually done by September, at which time they will resume making offers to April 2003 students for Central/South Mesa.

Just called Mesa Housing. Right now South and Central Mesa offers are going to applicants who applied in April 2003. North Mesa offers are going to applicants who applied in February 2004.

This is a little weird, since they gave me a Central Mesa date of August 2003 back in April. Oh well...

I asked if they had an estimate for when Jen's application would get an offer (applied in April 2004), and the nice lady just told me that she can only give the application dates of current offers, and can't really estimate for the future, which is understandable.

Mesa 2-Bedrooms - South, Central

I called this morning and was informed that Mesa South is offering to February 2003 applicants and Mesa Central is offering to August 2003 applicants.

Introductions

Hello! I am a new blog for housing updates for the University of California, San Diego's affiliated housing! This blog is created by a PhD student at UCSD in Bioengineering. The idea is that whenever one of you readers calls into UCSD housing to get an estimate for when housing will be available, let us know and we'll post that information for all to know here on the blog. The UCSD housing folks will get fewer calls to deal with, while the information is freely distributed to whomever would like to know.

A few little notes: UCSD affiliated housing typically has long wait lists associated with particular complexes. For example, Mesa Housing has an approximate 2-year, 2-month waitlist, while Single-Grad Housing typically has a 6-month waitlist. During a call, I typically let them know I am on the waitlist, and would like to know which applicants are being offered housing in the complex I am interested in. They usually respond by telling me they are offering housing to applicants that applied in April 2002, for example.
